Shun Sakaguchi

Shun is Head of NextGrid Alliance at National Grid Partners, where he focuses on fostering a global collaboration network bringing the most forward-thinking energy companies together to accelerate the global energy transition and accelerate utility innovation.

Before joining National Grid Partners, Shun spent nearly 14 years at BloombergNEF (BNEF), where he led US West Coast business development and growth strategies across BNEF’s entire service portfolio. His expertise lies in enterprise business development, strategic partnerships, customer success, and event sponsorship. Over his tenure at BNEF, Shun also managed commercial relationships in the US Midwest, and he was one of the founding members of the BNEF Japan team.

Shun holds a BEng in Industrial & Management Engineering from Waseda University in Tokyo and a MSc in Strategic Marketing from the Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow. When he’s not working, you can find him surfing, camping, playing the guitar, or chasing after his son. He also curates an unofficial (and slightly biased) Tokyo gourmet guide.
