Gia Mahmoud
Vice President, Portfolio and Project Management, National Grid
Gia Mahmoud is an accomplished energy executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience across electric utility operations, strategy, engineering, and portfolio delivery. She currently serves as Vice President of National Grid’s Portfolio and Project Management Organization, where she leads the development of a balanced NY Electric TOTEX work plan that advances customer, stakeholder, and business priorities. In this role, Gia oversees project management, contract management, portfolio controls, estimating, resource planning, and strategic business planning for electric transmission and distribution capital programs totaling more than $2 billion annually.
Previously, Gia led the Future of Electric team, where she shaped strategies to transform the electric business in support of policy, customer, environmental, resiliency, and affordability objectives. She also served as Director of Grid Modernization Solutions, developing strategic roadmaps to modernize the distribution grid, and as Director, Distributed Generation Ombudsperson, supporting the interconnection of distributed energy resources and strengthening relationships with developers and customers. Earlier in her career, Gia led the Substation Engineering and Design team, delivering the capital work plan and providing technical support for critical substation assets.
Gia holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, as well as an Executive MBA from Cornell University.
